Applesauce Spice Bread
1 1/4 cups applesauce
1 cup white sugar
1/2 cup vegetable oil
2 eggs
3 tablespoons milk (I used buttermilk its what I had)
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional I did not use them)
1) Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan. I recommend using butter to grease the pan. It will give the bread more flavor on the edges.
2) In a large bowl, combine the applesauce, sugar, oil, eggs and milk; bear well. Sift in the flour, baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, and salt; stir until smooth. If using, fold in the pecans. Pour batter into prepared loaf pan.
3) Bake in preheated oven for 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into center of the loaf comes out clean.
