Cinnamon Streusel Pizza

Homemade or store bought pizza dough (I added my pizza crust recipe to the bottom of this post that I use)
1 TBSP butter, melted
Cinnamon (to sprinkle)
1/2 cup plus 1/3 cups all-purpose flour
1/3 cup white sugar
1/4 cup brown sugar
2 TBSP vegetable shortening
2 TBSP oil
1 cup powdered sugar
1 TBSP milk
1/2 tsp. vanilla

1.Preheat oven to 460° F. Mix together streusel ingredients with a fork, or your clean hands, then side aside.
2.To make pizza, pat dough into a 12 inch pizza pan that has been sprayed with oil.  Perforate pizza dough with a fork (this keeps bubbles from forming), then brush with 1 TBSP melted butter. Sprinkle cinnamon all around buttered crust.
3. Top pizza crust with streusel mix, crumbling in your hands to make nice pea sized chunks.
4.Bake at 460° F for 8 to 9 minutes depending on the thickness of the pizza.
5.Mix icing ingredients until it is of a drizzle consistency. If it is too thick, then thin with a small amount of milk until you have reached your desired thinness.
6.When finished baking, top with icing in a circular pinwheel pattern. Cut up and enjoy!

1 cup warm water (115 degrees)
1 teaspoon sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons active dry yeast

In a medium mixing bowl, combine water, sugar, and salt. Add flour and yeast all at once, and stir until a soft dough forms. Add additional flour if needed, and knead gently for 5-10 minutes, until dough is smooth and elastic.
*Or, you can mix this dough in a stand mixer, until soft and elastic. Mix for 6 min
Butter or grease a 16-inch round pizza pan. Using your buttery hands, lift the soft, sticky dough onto the pizza pan and gently spread to the edges.

* I already have a cinnamon pizza on my blog from a few years ago but I think that this one tasted alot better so I am adding this one to.

  1. This looks like something my kids (and myself) would love and I have a pizza crust frozen in the freezer (I make a big batch and freeze them so I have them for the entire month, we eat pizza once a week as a treat). I am going to give this one a try. Thanks for sharing.
