Owl Cake

*It was my moms 61st birthday yesterday and for as long as I can remember she has loved and collected owls so we decided that we would make her an Owl cake. It was a lot of fun and so simple :)

14 cupcakes made from a cake mix
16-ounce can of vanilla frosting
green food coloring
blue food coloring
finely chopped sweetened coconut
chocolate sprinkles
thin oreo fudge cookies
jellyrings ( gummy savers)
Junior Mints
mini chocolate chips
circus peanuts
pretzel rods

1.You'll need a 16-ounce  vanilla frosting. Tint 1 cup with green food coloring, and reserve the rest.
2.From 1 cup finely chopped sweetened coconut, tint ½ cup blue, and reserve the rest.
3.Frost 10 cupcakes green and 4 white. Roll the edges of two of the white cupcakes in chocolate sprinkles.

4.Arrange the Mama Owl as shown. Use a serrated knife cut  5 chocolate oreo cookies for the wings and trim the sides from another cookie for the brows.
5.Make each eye from a whole cookie, piped-on frosting, a jelly ring and a Junior Mint.To finish the eye.

6. Sprinkle the white coconut over the chest and scatter with mini chocolate chips. Add pretzel-rod branches and trimmed circus peanuts for the beak and talons,
